Using Canva for Print Files
Canva is a great tool for creating print designs, but the file needs to be shared or exported correctly so we can print it cleanly. Follow the steps below before sending us your design.
Option 1: Share Your Canva Design With Us
- Open your design in Canva.
- Click Share in the top-right corner.
- Choose Share link.
- Share your design with SouthJordan@CopytecSJ.com.
- Select Can view if you only want us to review it, or Can edit if you want us to help adjust the file.
- Share with us and let us know.
Option 2: Export a Print-Ready PDF
- Open your design in Canva.
- Click Share.
- Click Download.
- Under file type, choose PDF Print.
- Check the box for Crop marks and bleed.
- If available, choose CMYK for professional printing.
- Click Download and upload the PDF to us.
Important: Add Bleed Before Exporting
If your design has color, photos, or graphics that go all the way to the edge, make sure they extend past the trim edge into the bleed area. This helps prevent unwanted white edges after cutting. In Canva, use the bleed/crop marks option when downloading as PDF Print.
Before You Send Your File
- Check spelling, names, dates, addresses, and phone numbers.
- Make sure QR codes are large enough and scan correctly.
- Keep important text away from the edges.
- Use high-resolution photos and logos when possible.
- Confirm the final size of your design.
Best File Type for Printing
For most print projects, we recommend sending a PDF Print file from Canva with crop marks and bleed turned on. Canva identifies PDF Print as the print-focused download option, including support for bleed, crop marks, and color profile selection.

I have used CopyTec personally and professionally for my business. They have fantastic customer service and personalized help to ensure that I get an amazing product from them! Usually with that type of care and custom work you would think it would be too unaffordable but I found that they had more compettative pricing! One HUGE benefit is that they have a very quick turn around time! I have had them print for me in a clutch and it was a better, cheaper, faster option than ordering online and I never had to pay for shipping! I would recommend them to anyone!!!!!
